The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts (RACA) signed a partnership agreement with Lausanne Hospitality Consulting, a subsidiary of Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne Group (EHL), Switzerland on Wednesday, the 5th of December 2018 at the Academy’s campus. The partnership aims to develop and expand the curricula at RACA, taking into consideration the introduction of a Bachelor’s degree.

As a result of the partnership, RACA will be recognized as an Associate member of the network of EHL-Certified Schools.

This step aligns with the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts’ celebrations of its 10th year anniversary; established in 2008 as one of the initiatives of King Abdullah II Fund for Development (KAFD) to raise the level of education in the tourism sector and to reorient young men and women towards education related to the labor market. The Royal Academy of Culinary Arts currently awards a diploma in Culinary Arts.

HE Dr. Wajeh Oweis; Chairman of RACA’s Board of Trustees and Chef Jacques Rossel; RACA’s Director signed on behalf of RACA. Mr. Olivier Roux; Senior Managing Director of LHC and Mr. Jens-Henning Peters from LHC signed on behalf of Lausanne Hospitality Consulting, a subsidiary of the EHL group.

أبرمت الأكاديمية الملكية لفنون الطهي اتفاقية شراكة مع جامعة لوزان الفندقية السويسريةÉcole Hôtelière de Lausanne (EHL)  في مقر الأكاديمية يوم الأربعاء الموافق ٥ كانون الأول ٢٠١٨، وذلك بهدف تطوير وتوسيع البرامج الدراسية في الأكاديمية، وإعتمادهذه البرامج من قبل جامعة لوزان الفندقية السويسرية . وتأتي هذه الخطوة تزامنا مع احتفالات الأكاديمية الملكية لفنون الطهي بالعام العاشر لتأسيسها؛ حيث تأسست في العام ٢٠٠٨ كأحدى مبادرات صندوق الملك عبد الله الثاني للتنمية للارتقاء بمستوى التعليم في القطاع السياحي، وإعادة توجيه الشباب والشابات نحو التعليم المرتبط بسوق العمل. علماً بأن الأكاديمية تمنح حالياً درجة الدبلوم في فنون الطهي.

وقام بالتوقيع عن الأكاديمية الملكية لفنون الطهي معالي د. وجيه عويس رئيس مجلس أمناء الأكاديمية وشيف جاك روسيل مدير الأكاديمية ، وعن جامعة لوزان الفندقية السيد أوليفيير روو مدير عام لوزان للاستشارات الفندقية (LHC).

ومن الجدير بالذكر أنه تم اختيار جامعة لوزان الفندقية لتنفيذ الشراكة لأنها أول جامعة فندقية أُنشئت في العالم عام ١٨٩٣، ودائما ما يتم تصنيفها كأفضل جامعة فندقية في العالم، لديها أوسع شبكة اتصالات في مجال الضيافة بالعالم، تخرج منها أكثر من ٢٥ ألف طالب، ويلتحق بها حالياً أكثر من ٢٣٦٠ طالب، وتضم طلبة من ١٠٠ جنسية مختلفة.

Blood Donation January 2019

In collaboration with the Blood Bank Directorate – Ministry of health, RACA’s Nurse & Health Counselor, Ms. Tahani Tayeh, organized a Blood Donation Drive which took place at the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts today, the 14th of January 2019 where students, faculty and staff participated in the Blood Donation Day

بالتعاون مع مديرية بنك الدم – وزارة الصحة، نظّمت المستشارة الصحية للطلاب وممرضة الأكاديمية، تهاني تايه، يوم للتبرع بالدم اليوم الاثنين 14 كانون الثاني في الأكاديمية الملكية لفنون الطهي والذي شارك فيه الطلاب والمدرسون وموظفو الأكاديمية بالتبرع بالدم.

Al Youm Food Company 2019

On January 26th 2019, RACAteers were welcomed to Al youm food company – Dairy & Juices.

Our Director/ Chef Jacques Rossel and Executive Chef/ Yousef Iqleim, joined the students in the tour.

The students were introduced to the process of operations and learned a lot.

RACA would like to thank Project Manager/ Mr. Stephen O’keeffe for the wonderful hospitality and learning opportunity.

New Swiss Ambassador Visiting RACA

The new Swiss Ambassador to Jordan His Excellency ”Lukas Gasser” visited The Royal Academy Of Culinary Arts on Monday 28 January 2019 as it is the ambassador’s first visit to RACA since his appointment recently.


RACA’s Director Chef Jacques Rossel accompanied the Ambassador in a tour at RACA to introduce him to the various academic facilities in addition to the academic programs offered to the academy’s students.

The distinguished relationship of RACA with the educational institutions in Switzerland has been emphasized during this visit, as the Academy is an associate member of the Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne Group.
